Back in 2013 when I went to the Viking Ship Museum in Denmark, I bought a beautiful authentic model of a Viking ship called BB703 Roar Ege that has to be built.
It was my very first boat building experience, so it took quite a lot of time for me 😉 Here is how it went …

I imagined my perfect library as a spacious room with a high ceiling and tall windows, all dark wood and warm yellow lamps, with soft armchairs hidden in cozy corners and a large table in the middle.
Then, recently, I have visited the Trinity College library in Dublin and I was speechless. It definitely is The Perfect Library, a place so unique and beautiful, a place with its own unforgettable atmosphere, filled with centuries of secrets and wisdom.

In my grand-parents’ old house there is a room where past lives. It is filled with old things, things that belonged to them.
After my grand-parents passed away, no one in the family had the heart to go through these things, so they were brought to this room and left there while the rest of the house was undergoing a very much needed renovation.
To me, this particular room is like a chest of wonders. Old photos, books, portraits, objects and letters are there like old friends, welcoming whoever comes in.

Recently something happened in my life that made me shift my priorities a lot.
I was looking for something stupid, I don’t even remember what it was now, and suddenly I found a very old photo album in my grand-ma’s closet. I didn’t even know it existed!
This old album is unlike any I have ever seen – its time-worn cover is made of fine leather with some beautiful drawings.

What gift do you want for Christmas? What sort of gifts do you love to give and to receive?
How about a story? Yes, a gift of a story. After all, if we think globally, our whole life is but an infinite number of stories. They flow and run, they twist and turn, they meet and change each other. These stories make us laugh, cry, think, act, they inspire us, wow us, give us hope. Each of us is a story. Each of us has a story, a beautiful, unique story that no one else can tell the same way. If several people start at the same place, the ending will be different for everyone, the story will be different. And this is the beauty of it 😉 Read the rest of this entry »

I got lucky to work in London last couple of week, and I went to the biggest and yummiest book store in the whole Europe – Waterstones Piccadilly. Just imagine – over eight miles of bookshelves on six huge floors, thousands and thousands books… This is heaven!
And they have a whole corner dedicated to Harry Potter with special editions, collector goodies, fans’ staff etc… have a look:

As I have promised in my previous post, I will talk a little about my recent trips.
So, first of all, I went to Geneva.
I understand why Geneva was one of the favorite places for vacation – the landscapes are gorgeous and even in summer, the heat is not unbearable at night. The city is very clean, there is a lot of museums and touristic things.
I particularly loved the park by the Leman lake, next to the botanic garden. An interesting surprise was awaiting me there – a museum of the history of sciences.

I have just rad a juicy romance book that was mentioning an old Hollywood movie called “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”. And I decided to watch it out of curiosity.
Guess what? I was WOWed! When I finished watching this old black-and-white movie from 1947, I headed straight for Amazon and bought both the DVD and the original book.
As it usually happens, the movie is slightly different from the book, but nonetheless both are awesome.
