An ocean view, a telescope, and a beautiful story

10 May

I have just rad a juicy romance book that was mentioning an old Hollywood movie called “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”. And I decided to watch it out of curiosity.

Guess what? I was WOWed! When I finished watching this old black-and-white movie from 1947, I headed straight for Amazon and bought both the DVD and the original book.

As it usually happens, the movie is slightly different from the book, but nonetheless both are awesome.

I’m listening to “Live and Let Die” the second James Bond book. I find it interesting because when I watch James Bond he always seems so tough, but now that I can har his thoughts — he has quite a few insecurities and doubts, and lots of luck.

I’ve never read the book, but I loved the movie “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” — though that’s all I can remember. I miss my TCM channel, but now I have no time for it. 🙁 Have you seen “Random Harvest”? That one’s on my To Get list: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0035238/

Oh wow! Thanks for the advice, Mili, I’ll definitely watch it 😉
James Bond book… that’s another cool idea! Somehow, I thought there were only movies, but the book is a totally cool perspective 😉 I think I will enjoy it, too 😉

You’re welcome. I love old classic romantic comedies and some dramas that end well. I’m not much for tragedy, though there are exceptions. One of my favourites is also “It Started With Eve”. That one makes me laugh every time. It’s silly, but brilliant. http://www.imdb.com/title/

Not to be mistaken with “All About Eve” which is one of the top classic movies of all time.

Have you seen “Roman Holiday” with Audrey Hepburn?

Yes, James Bond was created by Ian Fleming. I listened to “Caino Royale” and was surprised how much of it was like the movie, considering that the books were set post WWII, and the movie is in modern times.

“Live and Let Die” is rather creepy — I want to see the movie again after I finish the book, so that I can compare. On Netflix, there is a TV series about Ian Fleming who was a real life spy, but I have not watched it, yet. Hopefully, they will not remove it before I have the chance to see it. 😊
